We selected these 6 options because their specifications overlap with the original unit. All listed power supplies offer 850W output and 80 PLUS Gold efficiency ratings. They also feature fully modular cables and carry a 10-year warranty, matching the original's reliability. The list includes both SFX and ATX options to cover different build sizes. Some picks include ATX 3.1 standards for modern GPUs. You can choose based on your specific case dimensions and connector needs.
How These Alternatives Compare
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G+ 850W PSU
The EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G+ offers the same 850W output and 80 PLUS Gold efficiency as the GM SFX, but it uses a standard ATX form factor. It measures 7.1 inches long, making it significantly larger than the compact SFX unit. You gain flexibility for standard cases but lose the ability to fit in small form factor builds. It retains the fully modular design and 10-year warranty found in the original. If your chassis supports ATX dimensions, this model provides identical power delivery without the size constraints. It is a practical choice when you do not need the miniature footprint of the SFX version.
EVGA 850 G6 Fully Modular PSU
The EVGA 850 G6 is another standard ATX option with 850W output and 80 PLUS Gold efficiency. It shares the fully modular design and 10-year warranty of the SuperNOVA GM SFX. However, it is much larger, measuring 5.5 inches in length compared to the SFX unit. This model is designed for standard ATX cases rather than compact builds. It provides reliable power for standard gaming PCs but cannot be used in small form factor enclosures. If you have a full-size case and prefer a traditional ATX power supply, this alternative offers the same efficiency and warranty without the spatial limitations of the SFX design.
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G7 Gold Modular PSU
The EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G7 is a shortened ATX power supply with 850W output and 80 PLUS Gold efficiency. It is fully modular and includes a 10-year warranty, matching the original specifications. The chassis is 5.1 inches long, which is still larger than the SFX unit. It is intended for standard ATX cases and does not fit small form factor builds. This model provides clean power and quiet cooling for builders with standard cases. If you need 850W in a slightly smaller ATX footprint but do not require SFX dimensions, this is a viable alternative. It sacrifices compactness for compatibility with standard chassis designs.
MSI MPG 850W Gold ATX 3.1 Power Supply
The MSI MPG 850W Gold ATX 3.1 is a standard ATX power supply with 850W output and 80 PLUS Gold efficiency. It is fully modular and includes a 10-year warranty. This model supports ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards, featuring a native 12V-2x6 connector for modern GPUs. It is significantly larger than the SFX unit, measuring 5.91 inches in length. It is designed for standard ATX gaming PCs and does not fit small form factor builds. If you are upgrading to next-generation graphics cards and have a standard case, this alternative offers advanced connectivity features that the SFX unit lacks.
GAMEMAX 850W SFX Gold Power Supply
The GAMEMAX 850W SFX Gold Power Supply matches the original in form factor, offering 850W output in a compact SFX size. It is fully modular and achieves 80 PLUS Gold efficiency. However, it lacks the specific brand reputation and detailed warranty information provided in the original data. It is designed for small builds needing efficient power. If you prioritize the SFX footprint and Gold efficiency but want a different brand option, this model fits standard small form factor cases. It provides similar power density but may not offer the same level of component details or warranty support as the EVGA SuperNOVA GM SFX.
MSI MPG 850W Gold ATX 3.1 Modular PSU
The MSI MPG 850W Gold ATX 3.1 Modular PSU is a standard ATX power supply with 850W output and 80 PLUS Gold efficiency. It is fully modular and includes a 10-year warranty. This model supports ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards, featuring dual 12V-2x6 connectors for high-end GPUs. It is much larger than the SFX unit, measuring 11.5 inches in length. It is designed for standard ATX gaming builds and does not fit small form factor enclosures.
